Buying a supplement shouldn't feel like reading a chemistry textbook. But figuring out what's worth your money and what's just clever marketing? That takes some work. We do that work for you.
Every guide on this page follows the same approach: we look at what's in the product, check whether the research supports what the brand claims, and give you our honest take — in language that actually makes sense.
What We Look At
What's inside: We go through the ingredient list and look up each active compound. What has it been studied for? At what dose? In what kind of study? We're looking for real evidence, not just an ingredient that sounds impressive on a label.
Does the dose matter? This is where a lot of supplements fall short. A product might include a well-researched ingredient — but at one-tenth the dose that was actually studied. We catch that and flag it.
Does the marketing match the science? Brands love phrases like “clinically proven” and “doctor recommended.” We trace those claims back to whatever they're based on. Sometimes it holds up. Sometimes it really doesn't.
Is it worth the price? If you can get the same ingredients for half the price somewhere else, you should know that. We put every product in context against what else is available.
Important: We're Not Doctors
Nothing in these guides is medical advice. We're wellness writers, not healthcare providers. If you're managing a health condition or taking medications, check with your doctor before adding any supplement to your routine. Our job is to help you understand products well enough to have a better conversation with your provider — not to replace that conversation.

Skin Health & Personal Care
Your skin is the one health topic you can literally see. We cover products that promise to help with common concerns — and we're honest about what “help” realistically looks like.
Purely Me Skin Tag Remover: What to Expect
At-home skin tag removal that actually walks you through the full timeline — day by day, including the parts that look worse before they look better. Plus a clear breakdown of who should just go see a dermatologist instead.
Our Approach
We don't take money from brands for good reviews. Some links earn us a commission if you buy, but that doesn't change what we write. If a product doesn't hold up, we say so. Details on our How We Work page.
